•          Excellent tuning accuracy

•          Self-locking gear - no sudden detuning of the instrument

•          Weatherproof - no jumping, no jamming of the pegs

•          No wear on the peg/peghole

•          Continued durability

•          Reduced instrument maintenance

•          Available in ebony, rosewood, or ABS synthetic

Choosing the right size and diameter

The perfection pegs are available for violin, viola and cello with different diameter.

To ensure the perfection pegs fit to your instrument, please measure the peg holes before you place your order.

Measure the diameter of all the peg holes

•          To get an accurate measurement of the peg holes, remove the pegs and measure the diameter of all peg holes.

•          To get an approximate measurement, leave the pegs in place and measure the diameter of the existing pegs with calipers.

•          Select the Perfection pegs diameter that is just larger than the largest peg hole.

•          For new instruments, the smallest Perfection pegs (7.8mm for violin) are usually suitable.

•          Older instruments often have larger peg holes and require the larger pegs.

Important information before installation

There are two types of pegs in each set: pegs for the treble side of the instrument marked with a T on the bottom of the shaft and pegs for bass side marked with a B.

- The pegs must be installed on the correct side.

- The pegs have the usual taper (violin/viola 1:30, cello 1:25).

- The pegs have a self-tapping thread.

- The T pegs have a left-hand thread and the B pegs have a right-hand thread.

- The pegs are fastened by screwing the thread into the peg hole.

- The pegs come in standard lengths and must be shortened to fit your instrument.

Tuning your instrument with Perfection Pegs

Tuning of the instrument with Perfetion Pegs works almost like conventional pegs. By turning the peghead, the strings of the instrument are tuned. However, this works much more accurately with fine tuning pegs.

The Perfection Peg pegs have a planetary gear. The friction can be varied by pulling the peg head outward or pushing it inward.

If the peghead is pulled far out, the instrument can be tuned easily, but it will not hold as soon as you let go of the peghead.

If the peghead is pushed too far inward, the thread almost locks and the instrument can hardly be tuned.

To find the optimal point, the position of the peghead must be varied so that the instrument can be tuned easily and perfection peg gears hold.
