HISTORY AND ADVANTAGES - CORUSS SYNTHETIC BOW HAIR

The decreasing or strongly changing quality of the bow hair of Mongolian horses induced the inventors of Coruss hair to travel to Mongolia to get to the heart of the matter. On site they learned that due to higher temperatures in summer and more snowfall in winter, the food source of Mongolian horses is severely affected and this has a direct effect on the quality of the hair. In addition, the demand for bow hair is increasing worldwide, which affects the selection criteria for quality and some manufacturers even started to bleach the hair chemically. Bleaching greatly weakens the hair extremely.

After several years of research and development, the manufacturers succeeded in developing synthetic hair that combines the same properties as high quality horsehair. Furthermore, Coruss praises the durability. Musicians can play the hair cover for several years until it has to be changed. The hair hardly absorbs any moisture, making the bow the ideal companion, especially for concerts and travel with strong climatic changes.
